Meiji Microscope C-Mount Adapter Information

Microscope, C-Mount and Camera image

When attaching a digital or video (analog) camera to your microscope, you will need to use a C-Mount adapter to connect the camera to the trinocular port.

The image at left has a microscope digital camera connected to a c-mount adapter on a Meiji stereo microscope.

C-Mount adapters are microscope-specific. This means that if you have a Meiji microscope, you will need a Meiji C-Mount adapter. This is because the focal length is set specifically for the microscope.

When selecting your C-Mount adapter (there are different adapters that have different magnification lenses built into them), you will want to take into consideration both the chip size in the camera and the magnification of the eyepieces you are using. This allows you to match the magnification at the camera as close as possible to the magnification you see through the eyepieces.
