Vibration Isolation Tips

Eliminating vibration for time lapse imaging and micro-manipulation is important. Vibration isolation tables and platforms can stop vibrations from being transmitted to the microscope or other sensitive equipment, thus ensuring a more stable platform for imaging, microsurgery or in vitro fertilization.

Below are a few tips for further solving vibration issues:
  • Place equipment away from obvious problem areas such as elevator shafts, heating or cooling fans and vents.
  • Put other equipment such as shakers, refrigerators, and incubators on a separate table away from the microscope.
  • Put power supplies on a shelf or on the floor away from equipment.
  • Use the heaviest table available.
  • Place a thin foam pad between the microscope and the table.
